Little Known Facts about Washington DC
Living in Washington DC is to live in the center of our Nation’s Capitol, with an abundance of work and entertainment opportunities. The city has four major areas, Northwest, Northeast, Southwest and Southeast. Washington DC apartments in the Northwest area tend to offer more versatility with twenty-four hour bus and taxi service plus the most numerous Metro train stations at or near major business districts and tourist attractions. The Metro network also extends out into Virginia and Maryland for shopping and work convenience. There is no necessity to own a vehicle when living in DC.
DC is a hub of daily activities that include The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, National Zoo, and Smithsonian and Natural History museums. The city abounds with statues, museums, and historical homes celebrating the country’s founding fathers, military organizations, industry leaders, and famous writers, musicians and artists. Some events and places that residents enjoy are the Maine Street Marina with dining cruise ships that sail up and down the Potomac River, the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Marine Corps Marathon, free concerts at the National Mall and the Kennedy Center, China Town’s New Year celebration, Memorial Day and 4th of July celebrations on the lawn of the White House. There are Embassies from around the world.
Employment opportunities are plentiful with a plethora of government organizations and private foundations, research centers and businesses. DC is a city that has an advantage and opportunity to match everyone’s interest. It is an exciting and vibrant place to call home.
