Why You Should Eat More Fruit for a Longer Life
Fruit is the healthiest “fast food”. Fruit is super easy to prepare, demands no preparation aside from washing and perhaps peeling. A good idea is to stash a piece of washed fruit in your purse in the morning and it’s there for you any time that day. It will encourage you to avert the snack bar and have instead a piece of fresh fruit. I’ve found a few reasons why fruit is healthful for you:
1. Fruit contains virtually no fat.
2. Fresh fruits (not dried or canned or cooked) contain mostly water, which establishes them a natural, nutritious and fun source of your daily water demands.
3. Fruit is a brain food. Research has found that fruit actually stimulates memory and supports neuro activity in the brain.
4. Fruit is a remarkable source of dietary fiber, which not only thwarts digestive troubles and colon cancer, but also prevents heart disease.
5. Fruit is exceptional for weight loss.
6. Fruits contain a a wide number of phytonutrients, which furnish many health benefits.
7. Fresh fruits are purifying for the body. Most every detox program incorporates fresh fruit. The lemon is particularly purifying. One of the more common body cleansing diets is the lemon detox. I do one 4 times a year and can’t say enough about it.
