Gene Therapy Breakthroughs Give Options to Beat Cancers, Even Mesothelioma

genetic therapy is a novel technique of treating health problems made up of cancers, made up of peritoneal mesothelioma. It can be termed as the therapy that utilizes hereditary materials or RNA which does express a enzyme in the cell or interfere with the fusion of protein in a microorganism to take care of a health problem. Genes are basic living parts of genetics. They are sub-units of DNA that contains the instruction for creating enzymes. These genes are located in the genes in the core of the bacterium. Pertaining to the Human Genome Project most of the DNA in humans have been mapped. Man have between thirty-thousand and 40,000 DNA strands. When these genes are altered either by mutation or by dissolving, it may perhaps run strangely resulting in carcinomas.

Research is being done to use DNA therapy to fight carcinomas likes cancer of the mesothelium. Gene therapy aims at either improving the capacity of the healthy cells to fight the cancer cells or simply wipe out the carcinomas or prevent their expansion. Currently DNA therapy is only under clinical trials and currently it cannot be utilized for caring for health problems including cancer. It could take years to realize if it does have a fundamental function in the caring of cancer.

In RNA therapy RNA are injected in to the target cells. Most of the clinical testing are performed using protein 53. This gene is given the title of the Tumor suppressor gene. If this gene does not work properly, it might end in numerous different kinds of carcinoma like colon carcinoma, stomach cancer, esophageal carcinoma,, lung cancer, and so on. In gene therapy, this gene and other needed DNA are brought in to the selected cells to stop the development of cancer.

The genes is generally incorporated to the persons cells by these techniques: Microinjection of DNA into the cells and electropermeabilization. Genetic material transporters are called a vector. The vector in most of the cases is a virus. These viruses are altered so that they do not produce any sickness in the patient and therefore cannot do harm. The mutation also causes the disease to find the selected cells. The vectors are chosen by the precise characteristics and specifications like the way they send genetic materials to the cells they know and are able to infect, and whether they alter the cells chromosomes forever or briefly.

Dreams Are They Good Or Bad?

Dreams that you have at night are bad if they are “Nightmares”, but the dreams you have that make you feel great and inspired - those are “Goodmares”. So have you been have “Nightmares” or “Goodmares”? If you are feeling oppressed or depressed you are probably have the first one, but if you have good things going on you are probably have the second.

Some say that the first one could be a premonition of things to come or an evilness in the dreamer. But could it just be an inner talk going on within you that is allowing your mind to create these? I am not a psychologist, have never studied Sigmund Freud and really don’t delve in that area. But I do feel that if you are relaxed and happy with your life, you are more likely to have “Goodmares”.

I am not really here to talk about your “..mares” I am really here to talk to you about your Dreams, your Aspirations, your Desires and your Inspirations. One definition the dictionary has for Dream is: “A condition or achievement that is longer for; an aspiration.” That is what is important to you and to your future.

Only Children Or Younger People Dream

Remember when you used to Dream and let your imagination run wild, when you ran freely through a meadow or traveled to new places or conquered domains - became the King or Queen and ruled over the land. Maybe you dreamed of driving the new car you just saw on the showroom with Mom and Dad or living in the house you saw while driving somewhere with your parents. Those were the good days when you let your imagination run freely and life was grand. Sadly, the times that we Dreamed were mainly in our earlier years and as we grew up, the Dreaming seemed to become less relevant. In Junior High and High School you had different dreams to an extent, when you went to College or started you job you had dreams to some extent.

But then reality sets in and you became involved with your career or family or whatever came along and the dreams faded and faded and disappeared. Then your Dreams were replaced with what many call “reality” and it was time to “grow up and forget about the childish things” or maybe it was “what do you want to be when you grow up” question? Some of us have not completely “grown up” yet, we still have times when we dream or “fantasize” about better places and things. But we don’t put action to it because we don’t know how or we are afraid of failure or success or being laughed at by our “friends”. Would true friends laugh at you or would they encourage you? Hummm, that could be food for thought.

Could there POWER in a dream?

The power of a dream is something you need to realize and grab onto. It is the dreamers such as Edison, Carver, Bell, Stanley, Ford, Trump, Gates, and many more who have had Dreams that propelled them to do what became great things. Their Dreams were the driving force that allowed them to keep “their nose to the grindstone” and accomplish great things.

There is such a power there that if harnessed, grabbed onto and acted up will allow you to move forward and off of the “treadmill” that you are on today. Dreams give you hope, they give you power and enthusiasm, a tunnel vision of focus to assist you to motivate you to drive you on an adventure of growth and realization about yourself that you might have buried deep and hidden away. They allow you to use your natural talents and learned talents to the max, if you will allow them to. They are the beginning of the whole process of becoming you were meant to be to accomplish what you were meant to accomplish.

“Those Without Dreams Work For Those With Dreams.” Wealth Builders

We all have a destiny, we all have things that we can and should accomplish. To many times we let “life” get in the way and hold us back or hinder us to the point that we give up and believe what the rest of the world says. Get a job, work hard, retire and enjoy your “Golden Years” that is what we did (are doing). I’ve heard it explained very well more than once, “Work 40 hours a week for 40 years and retire with 40% of what you were used to living on!” It is called the 40/40/40 plan and that is the bill of goods we have been sold. Forget those dreams, forget those aspirations and all that childish junk - just do what the rest of us are doing.

It is time to break the bondage of fear of failure or fear of success, it is time to stop the negative inner talk and sit down, relax and let yourself dream again. Dream about your house, your car, your boat, your new lifestyle, your garden, your swimming pool, your whatever it is that you have felt you always desired and deserved. Write those dreams down each and everyone of them. Every time a dream comes alive in your mind - write it down and keep track of all of them. Because they are the first step to moving on with your life.

How To Distinguish Public Speaking Problems

Fear of speaking in public is number one in the list of “phobias” which Americans have.

Phobia is defined as a persistent or intense fear of a certain object, activity or situation.

Fear of public speaking is one type of social phobia which is often associated or developed through a person’s adolescence.

How would you react if your boss suddenly tells you that you have to do a presentation in front of your colleagues?

If the mere thought of having to stand and speak in front of a crowd is enough to give you panic attacks, then you have this type of phobia.

As with all types of fears, you can learn to cope with your public speaking anxiety by recognizing the symptoms first.

Who knows? Once you are up there, you might eventually realize that you are good at giving speeches or addressing the public, and even make a living out of it.

People are always hungry for information and there is no to better way of keeping them informed than by conducting presentations and giving out speeches about certain topics which you have already “mastered”.

First, take a look at the physical and mental manifestations of a person who experiences fear of public speaking.

>Nervousness

Being nervous before the day of your speech has several physical symptoms, which are as follows:

1. You have butterflies in your stomach.

2. Your palms are sweating.

3. Your hands are shaking.

4. Your knees are also shaking and you feel as if your legs are about to collapse.

5. Your heart beats much faster than normal.

6. You experience a slight dizziness or you have a “fainting” feeling.

7. You have a stomach disorder.

6. Your face is flushed and your mouth is dry.

7. You have “cold sweat” all over.

8. ‘Panicky’ thoughts.

Any of the above symptoms are quite normal, in certain situations. However, if you experience them in excess, you might have to seek professional help.

Public speaking anxiety would also lead to a lot of ‘panicky thoughts’.

You might be afraid that someone in the audience knows more about the topic than you do.

You are afraid that there is a question to come up that you are unable to answer.

You are afraid of committing a blunder for everyone to witness.

You can actually channel these negative thoughts into a more positive output, resulting in a spontaneous, very informative and even humorous speech.

By recognizing the symptoms and learning how to deal with your fear, you will eventually learn how to address the public and make it enjoyable and informative, both to yourself and your audience.

Civil Responsibilities

Earlier we discussed rights, now it is time to discuss their big brother, responsibilities. For each right you claim, you inherit an equally important responsibility. When a boy gets his first rifle, not only does he get a great privilege, but he also becomes responsible for how he uses it. The most clichéd version of this phenomenon is the adage “you can’t yell fire in a crowded theatre”. It is true that as an American, you have the right to say most anything you desire, but you also have the responsibility to speak the truth and not to promote violence. The right to keep and bear arms is often mentioned, but often the responsibility for each bullet fired is not mentioned. It does not matter what the intended consequence is nor the reasons or justifications behind the firing. What matters is the result. As an adult you must accept the responsibility for your actions. You did accept the privileges, so is it not fair for you to accept the consequences also?

A saying my child hears when she refuses to acknowledge her that her actions have reactions is “You can do anything your big enough to handle, but you have to be big enough to take the praise or the licks.” All too often we as a society fail to see this as a part of life. There is a clamoring in the halls of our government buildings to legislate everything from marijuana to marriage. Everyone wants to be protected from the results of problems without having to take the ugly task of DEALING with the problem. Abortion, for instance, is something everyone in society has an opinion on. If it is permissible, when is it allowed and under what circumstances? The question most times is not when is it okay, but why is it necessary. Abortion for birth control means someone is not taking responsibility for his or her actions. Another less controversial topic is the wearing of motorcycle helmets. It is not my place to try to pass a law forcing motorcyclists to wear helmets, but neither is it my place to pay for their care if they are injured.

Today it is commonplace to hear people wanting what is owed to them. “It’s not fair!” “Its my right!” “Equal opportunity!” All these statements ignore the realm of personal responsibility. We might have a strong opinion on this subject, but is that not reasonable when we demand a greater freedom of action. We advocate self-protection. We teach people how to do what they believe is necessary to protect their family. As such, we are held to a higher standard. We choose not to be victimized; therefore, we must take great care not to victimize others. This thought of personal responsibility is central to the philosophy of the Shepherd School.

7 Big Mistakes In Goal-Setting - #3: Not Fully Engaging Your Imagination

You already know that to maximize their chances of success, goals need to be specific and measurable. This is what distinguishes them from aims or feelings - something has to change in the real world. For example, “I want to be happy” is not a goal - it’s a feeling. You can make yourself happy right now, just by thinking of someone you like or something you’re good at.

Goals are different. They take place in the real world, where changes take time. You need to know what will be different when the goal is achieved, so you will know when you have achieved it. The more vivid the picture you can make of your goal, the more motivating it will be.

Specific and measurable are easy when it comes to financial goals like savings or sales targets, because money is easily quantifiable. But those figures on paper are not going to excite you on their own. No - what motivates the salesman to achieve his target is what the figures will get him: being top dog in the sales team, the stuff he can buy with the money, or just securing his job for another quarter. When images of these desirable things flash through his mind, however fleetingly, he feels an emotional pull to achieve them.

In that example the images more or less generate themselves. With less easily quantifiable goals you can still ‘measure’ and get specific about what will be in place when you achieve the goal. Even if you can’t put a figure on it, you can specify your goal in sensory terms - what you will see, hear and feel (and maybe even taste and smell) when you achieve your goal.

The more vividly you can imagine your goal in sensory terms, the more compelling it will be for you. Images, sounds and feelings will usually be far more motivating than just words. They also give you more detailed information, so you are more likely to notice any aspects of the goal that you need to adjust.

When you have got your goal exactly the way you want it, and you’re feeling really good about it, step back out of it. Why? Because to your unconscious mind, imagining that you have achieved the goal will feel much the same as really achieving it (depending on how vividly you imagine). Rather than spend all your time daydreaming about the goal, you have to make things happen in the real world.

Stepping back out of the goal reminds you that you are not there yet. When you see that image in front of you (metaphorically in your future), you know how good it feels and you will want to get there. The goal will be ‘calling’ to you, almost pulling you towards it.

Bonus tip: what if you’re not the world’s greatest at visualization?
————————————————-

Actually anyone can daydream and see images. You may find it easier to talk through with someone else what your goal will be like, or to write about it in as much detail as you can. Use the present tense, as if you have already achieved your goal - this will make it more vivid.
