Which one is more painful: Calling tech support or a root canal?

Calling tech support can be a lot like going to the dentist with a toothache, whereupon the dentist pulls out one tooth at a time and keeps asking if it still hurts. He finally gets to the last tooth and says, “Ah, that’s the one.”

Tech support people fall into three major categories: those who know what they’re talking about, those who have no idea what they’re talking about but think they do, and those who know they don’t know what they’re talking about but want to convince you they do. It’s this last one you really have to worry about. They’ll keep you on the phone for as long as it takes to convince you that the problem is in your head and that your CD drive is SUPPOSED to sound like a washing machine during an earthquake.

When being told by tech support that a problem is not resolvable, try calling back. With most major companies, you’ll probably get another person whom you can present with the same problem. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called back after being told a problem is not resolvable and then being given the solution by the next tech support person I spoke to.

This approach may also be worthwhile when you are given a solution that may take you a considerable amount of time to test after you hang up. Rather than spend two hours just to find out the “solution” doesn’t work, call again. If the second solution matches the first, there’s a decent chance it’s the correct one. If not, if the first one told you that your printer won’t print, for example, because your new cartridge is defective and the second one told you that it won’t print because your toaster is on “Extra Dark” (the logic behind it might be something like, the toaster is sucking away all the “black stuff” from your printer), it’s a good idea to call back. No, not to find out how to lower the setting on your toaster; to find out if anyone at tech support is from the same planet as your printer’s manufacturer.

But don’t overdo the calling back. I once called about 4 or 5 times from a cell phone in a bad reception area. After giving my name, phone number, and a description of the problem, I lost the phone signal before getting a response. By the time I called back from a new location with better reception, they told me they already had me down as calling several times about the same issue and could no longer support me on this matter. Thank god my plumber doesn’t work this way.

In another instance, I called tech support just before sitting down to eat supper. The guy gave me so many “solutions” before giving me the correct one, by the time I got back to my supper, what was originally meat and potatoes, was now meat, potatoes and mushrooms.

The lessons to be learned from all this are, first, don’t be afraid to call back more than once for the same problem — but don’t abuse the privilege. And if you’re going to call from a cell phone, be sure to call with your free unlimited anytime minutes — because there’s always that chance you’ll get someone with unlimited solutions and you won’t be free any time soon.

Manager Carlos Alberto Parreira, who won it in 1994 has possibly a better squad of players at his disposal than he did 12 years ago and instead of Bebeto, Romario and Rai he now has Adriano, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. It is unlikely the man who has lead four different nations to the finals (Kuwait 1982, UAE 1990, Brazil 1994 and Saudi Arabia 1998) will be complaining.

Brazil start as clear favourites for the tournament and have attacking resources to frighten any opposing managers. As well as the trio already described, throw Kaka, Robinho, Roberto Carlos and Juninho into the mix and goals can come from literally anywhere on the pitch.

These minor imperfections could be seen as clutching at straws as overall, as a team and even as a squad, Brazil ooze world class quality with the important players vastly experienced in terms of World Cup finals appearances and success.

While Brazil are the firm bookmaker’s favourites, top goal scorer punters may like to try Adriano to win the Golden Boot. Strike partner Ronaldo, who won the coveted title four years ago is only offered at single figures.

If you are in multi level marketing system, you have to get many prospects until they join to your business. You must follow up your prospect. Maybe two prospect is not a problem. How about if you have 5 prospect a day. Don’t fall through the crack! However, if you enjoy pounding your head against the wall from frustration and never getting any sleep, then this is *perfect* for you.

Second, you could use one of the online autoresponder follow-up services such as Aweber. This provided you with one autoresponder and a limited number of follow-up messages. This was nice because you just referred people to the autoresponder (usually a free report) and it did all of the follow-up for you. The problem came when you wanted to add more follow-up messages or wanted additional follow-up series for different promotions. That could mean a lot of extra money you had to spend and very little flexibility, weak database management and the ability to merge in your follow-ups only the prospects name!

Third, you could purchase a contact database software that allowed you to create an unlimited number of follow-up sequences and an unlimited number of follow-up messages. This was great because you could create new follow-up sequences
for the different promotions you were running, different training series for your downline, etc… The possibilities were endless and it never cost anything extra once you had the software. The only problem was you had to manually enter each person into the software and you had to open up the program, log onto the Internet and then have the program send out your messages.

Above, I have told you how to follow up your prospect. Follow up means you keep closely with your prospect. Make them trust to you! It’s not easy. But you can practice to your prospect. If you could make a good communication while following up your prospects, they will come to join with you. I want to share some tips about that. Here there are:

• Think of everyone you are contacting as a personal friend of yours. You want to communicate with them as a manner. As a friend! Be conventional, be excited, be sincere.

• Know about the emotional button of your prospect and make sure you use those in your communications. Find out what your prospect wants and show them how they can get it!

• Have a brainstorming session with your teammates. Ask what made them sign up for the business. Think about what made YOU sign up. Your answer will give you a better idea of which are the top benefits you’ll want to emphasize when you talk to a prospect.

• Give them the Testimonials. People don’t like theories. They like real life examples with real life people involved. Almost no one can pass up reading a good story.

• Establish why your offer is such a great value. Your prospect must know that they are receiving a great value if you expect them to join with you. In other words, show them that what they are getting out of products and services, as well as support and training, is worth much more than what they are having to pay for it.

Always keep on your mind that your prospect is a person just like you. Treat them as you would like to be treated and you will have no problem communicating effectively!

Eating disorders plague millions of men and women throughout the world. Many people don’t seek help and eventually die from their disease. Eating disorders are diseases. They afflict the mind, tricking the individual into thinking he or she needs to take the most drastic measures to change his or her appearance. The individual then takes action, be it binge eating, starving themselves, or purging.

One such eating disorder is anorexia. Individuals with anorexia starve themselves to obtain perfection. They believe that they are overweight, or have the fear of becoming obese, no matter what the actual weight and body size. Anorexia is commonly seen in adolescence and the onset of puberty. A person with anorexia may develop strange eating habits, such as refusal to eat in front of others, or serving large meals for others and not eating any of it. Anorexia is very frequent in sports or activities that require a certain weight range, such as dance, gymnastics and running. People with anorexia may stop eating altogether, exercise excessively and become obsessive about their weight.

Anorexics often have the feeling that calorie intake and weight is the only thing they can control in their lives. Many have very low self esteem and some even feel they don’t deserve to eat. People with anorexia usually won’t seek help for themselves because they fear being forced to eat and get fat. It is possible, however, for anorexia to be treated and cured.

Some common symptoms of anorexia are irritability, discomfort around food, refusal to eat in public, excuses to skip meals, fatigue, dizziness, unexplained weight loss. These are just a few of the symptoms and are by no means limited to them. Most anorexics won’t display all the symptoms at once.

Another form of eating disorder is bulimia. An individual suffering from bulimia will binge, consuming sometimes as many as 20,000 calories at a time, then purge to rid themselves of the calories. Binge eating provides bulimics with a short lived feeling of comfort, then a feeling of self loathing afterwards. There are many ways a person can purge the food from their system. Some ways include vomiting, excessive exercise, inappropriate use of laxatives and diuretics.

Unlike anorexia, the symptoms of bulimia are much more difficult to detect. A person with bulimia can be of normal weight for their build, some are even overweight. Bulimics are also more likely to be aware of their problem and are more likely to seek help for themselves. The causes of bulimia are currently unknown. Some believe people with bulimia have low self esteem and a fear of becoming fat.

Some symptoms of bulimia are tooth decay, weight fluctuation, frequent bathroom visits after eating, secretive eating, vomiting, abuse of diuretics and laxatives. Other, more serious symptoms are an irregular menstrual cycle, stomach ulcers and irregular heart beat.

Binge eating is another serious eating disorder. Binge eating is consuming excessive amounts of food at one time, to the point of being painfully full. Unlike bulimia, people with this disorder do not purge after a binge. They simply lose control, consuming many calories at a time. People who binge are usually overweight, but it’s not uncommon for people with normal weight to do this, as well. Binging is usually followed by feelings of guilt, worthlessness and depression.

Some common symptoms of binge eating are, but not limited to, secretive eating, avoidance of social situations where food will be present, loss of sexual desire, fluctuation in weight, low self esteem and depression. People with this disorder may experience mood swings and irritability.

Eating disorders can be treated through psychological counseling. When seeking counseling, it’s important for the individual suffering from the disorder to express wants and needs to ensure the type of counseling is something they’re comfortable with. In some more extreme cases, hospitalization may be necessary.
